Week 6 : Task 2 - How Stuff Works


The Summary
Bear Grylls reflects on his wildest meals, from live fish to worms to animal carcasses. He is telling us how to survive in the wildness. If you don't have any water to drink you could drink it off from animals dung, usually from an elephant. Also you can eat proteins from animals raw meat or roast ones and all the insect. In a wild almost you could eat is proteins and it will be good for your body.
My Opinion
I think this video is very useful to us because if you are in a wild woods and have nothing but your body, he is showing us how to survive in it. Watching this video I could survive in the wildness. It is very good things to learn in my life.

Week 6 : Extra - Note Taking Tips

Note Taking Tips
Tip 1 - Take Selective Notes
Don't try to write the every single word what professor says. Just write important things in the lecture. Most important is relax and listen to the information what you want to write down.
Tip 2 - Laptop vs Notebook
Use anything you are comfortable with and write down fast.
Tip 3 - Put Ideas into your own words
Write down the information that you can understand in your own words.
Tip 4 - Review Your Notes After Class
Use your time after class and look over your notes. This will help you to memorize the lecture. Also your memory will be fresh and write down the details on your note.
Tip 5 - Comprehend First write Second
Always comprehend your writing.

Week 6 : Task 1 - Note-Taking Method

Video 1 - Long Term Memory
The Summary
Long Term Memory is like store room and file in computer. There are 2 types of long term memory. First, Procedural Memory this is doing something to memorize something. For example making a cake or playing instrument. Second is Declarative Memory. There is 2 part one is Episodic memory. This is watching an episode of friends or memorize the special moment in your life. The Next is Semantic Memory. It is like what you learn in school or playing a quiz of something.
Video 2 - 4 Ways to Help Long Term Retrieval
The Summary
1. Repeat Recite Review - She is explaining how to spell Mississippi. Like in the words Repeat Recite Review the vocabulary. 2. Distributive Practice - Divide Mississippi in 3 part and try to memorize it. Like Miss-iss-ippi. 3. Serial-Position Effect - It is common to miss spell the middle part of letter (iss) don't try to forget it. 4. Similarities and Differences - Easy way to memorize vocabulary find the similarities of it and differences of the words. For example front of Mississippi you can see the it is same is Miss.
My Opinion
The second video was helpful to me because I always do the same thing that she explains. I usually do Distributive Practice in vocabulary it is easy to memorize in parts of words. Also make a sentence of the word and use if every time when ever I can. It is similar to first video that he explained the Procedural Memory.

Week 5 : Task 2 - Music

The Summary

First, you have to know there are some bad language in this M/V. Please be aware of this. This is a M/V of 50 cent and the title is Follow My Lead. It about how man have to treat a lady. After he see the psychiatrist he gives a change to his behavior. Most surprising thing is Dustin Hoffman is in this M/V acting psychiatrist.

My Opinion

In my personal feeling I love thing kind of music tempo. I wish you gays all enjoy this music. Don't try to listen to the words just feel the tempo.

Vocabulary

"You need to respect her..." V. If you respect someone, you have a good opinion of their character or ideas. - That he have to change his behavior to lady's.

Week 5 : Task 1 - New York Times


The Summary
I watched The Modern Golf School. It is about how are golf school is today. Back days going to a golf school was just having winter vacation not improve your golf skill. Just play golf and have some cocktail with big roast beef for dinner, but today Modern Golf School is much different. Today they focus on nutrition, stamina, and your golf swing technic. So the reporter visited former golf player Annika Sorenstam golf academy in Orlando, Fla. She talks about the academy what they do on and how it works. It's not cheap but you can learn a lot of thing comparing to back days.
My opinion
It's good to have these golf school, because if you learn more and more your golf skills will get better and better. Most important is our golf future will grow up each year. One thing that bothers me is the cost of the golf school. It is too expensive that few people can join in the school.
